As we were getting into bed last night, the following exchange took place:
Cory: Maaan, I drank too much.
Me: Yeah, me too, but it's nice to let loose and indulge on a week night sometimes.
Cory: Whatever, we do this every night.
Me: NO, I haven't drank since last Friday - we don't do this EVERY night.
Cory: That was just a fluke. You didn't drink because you were sick.
I had no response for this. But how bad is it, really, when your life is as filled with crappy obligations as mine is, to relax with a couple of drinks?
Not bad at all.
Also, for those of you aware of my Red Panda obsession (read: none of you), the Houston Zoo is having 'Red Panda-monium' and someone you know is SO there.

I had a tremendous time at the rodeo ayer por la tarde. Unfortunately for me, we left the camera in the car at the stadium so it looks like you will be spared a campy photo post this time.
We watched the rodeo and left for the carnival once they started rolling out the stage. At the carnival we rode the sky-lift and took pictures that are trapped inside my blackberry. Cory got a fried twinkie and it was every bit as god-awful disgusting as I had imagined it would be. He loved it though, probably because he hates being able to see his feet / doesn't really enjoy having a heart that functions normally. I don't really know, I am just "spit-balling" here.
Tonight we are going to have game night at Mike and Gabe's place - which works out well because I need to borrow Amores Perros for school. I could use a laid back night to catch up from all of my hangovers anyhow, and they are just such lovely company..
I invited my family over for dinner tomorrow night, and it will be interesting / insanely frustrating to come up with a meal that works for my dad's special gout and diabetic diets. I love a challenge, though, and I plan to knock the socks off of that bitch.
Cory has to work tomorrow, so I plan to go over to my mama's and work on the falcon for a while before I go home and start getting dinner ready. That car is not going to restore itself, ya know?

I am feeling kind of crazy these days. It's starting to get on my nerves, and I am seriously hoping that the chemicals in my brain can find some way to coexist in peace - and soon.
We have tickets to the rodeo for tomorrow night, and I am pretty stoked about it. Last year I got pretty trashed and ended up walking several blocks down main street with no shoes. I suppose this year couldn't get drunker than that - but why pigeon-hole myself that way? Perhaps it will be twice as crazy and irresponsible as last year. Aim high - that's what I always say. And you know this means there will be an obnoxious picture post to follow....
contain yourself, please.

This weekend we had the kind of weather for not leaving the house unless it's for beer. In the spirit of laziness, the mister and I ordered in all weekend. Thank goodness for golden hunan II, without which I would have had to go out in the rain. I resubscribed to netflix - so I am back into the swing of renting shitty movies that I am not willing to pay blockbuster for.
Saturday night we watched Ed Wood. Was it worth $8.99 a month? You bet your ass.

Sunday we finally got tired of drinking at home, and took our act on the road. We took the jeep to Galveston - where it was also raining. We walked on the beach and picked up sea glass, ate fried pickles and drank.

Unfortunately, this is the only picture I have of eating fried pickles. They were hot.
fo' life
Finally, since we have had the jeep for a couple of weeks now, here's what it looks like. I know - you're jealous.

Also, Cory pickled jalapenos. He is on a jalapeno kick right now.

Cory anticipating his mediocre food.
It's Monday again, but it is spring break, so there will be no escuela for the whole week which makes the outlook less bleak. It's saddening, though, how spring break really carries no meaning once you are out of high school and into the working world.
My goal this week is to see how many evenings in a row I can coax the mister into agreeing to eat out. We'll see how that goes - he's all about saving the money...

2009 is going by so fast!
in February we did lots of things:
We got to know Charlie and Leslie better
We bought a new jeep for Cory
We paid off all of our debt
We went to church with Leila and the kids
I got to participate in a tea tasting
We went to an Irish festival
I got new bangs
I spilled beer in a friends shoes after falling on my ass
I had a conversation with someone about the destruction and creation of matter as it pertains to the existence of god
We went to the barbecue cookoff with Mary and Tim
Wore cowboy boots
Got disowned by my mom and sister because they have an absurdly low opinion of me
drank drank drank
drink drank drunk
we went to an irish festival and Cory
